Hello! Gayle, Shini, Linda and all the staff at BCC Child Care hope that you and your family are safe, well and staying positive. This is the first newsletter for BCC Child Care. As you are a part of the BCC Child Care family, you will receive this newsletter monthly. We promise to keep it short and sweet and include important updates, news and what’s going on at BCC Child Care. If you have something that you would like to contribute, please send it to us by replying to this email.
It has been wonderful to have the children back at the new Centre! The big smiles and patter of little feet in the morning has brought a lot of joy. Thank you for keeping your child coming to child care. To the families who we are yet to see back at Whitehorse Road, thanks for staying in touch and supporting us throughout the move. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Stage 3 “Stay at Home” Restrictions: Child Care Updates

There are a few updates for child care with the reinstatement of Stage 3 “Stay at Home” restrictions:

  • Child care at Balwyn Community Centre is considered an essential service and will remain open.
  • We have sessions running on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • If we have sufficient interest we will be able to run sessions on Tuesday.
  • Child care spots are limited, but we are doing what we can to try and accommodate all of our child care families.
  • Our session times are 9am – 12pm, 9am – 2pm and 9am – 4pm. Information regarding fees can be found on the BCC Child Care website:
  • Our staff are taking extra measures to ensure that BCC Child Care is a safe, clean and a positive environment, these include extra cleaning, sanitisation and social distancing protocols.

Feel assured that the safety of your child is very important to us, as well as your peace of mind. Gayle, Shini, Linda and all the office staff at BCC are doing everything that we can to keep child care running.

BCC Child Care now offer a full-day occasional care session, 9am-4pm. Taking on feedback from our families and results from a short survey that we conducted earlier this year, Gayle and Deb decided that a 9am-4pm session would be most suitable. Children can now attend up to 30 hours of child care each week at BCC Child Care.

For more information regarding session times and costs visit: you would like to enrol your child please call the office at Balwyn Community Centre on 9836 7942.

Luc’s Spaceship

What a wonderful piece of art from Luc! Luc is 5 and a half and attends child care on Fridays. He is very creative and loves to use the craft set when he is here. Gayle loved this piece so much that she has put it on the wall next to the office. Nice work Luc!
