We’re excited to be offering our first online Sri Lankan Cooking Workshop! Our cooking tutor, Harshini will show you step-by-step how to make authentic Sri Lankan dal and a chicken curry. The workshop will be live-streamed from our brand new kitchen on Tuesday, June 9 at 2pm – 3pm.

Before the workshop begins, participants will receive a print-off pdf with the recipe, cooking instructions and top tips for cooking Sri Lankan cuisine. When it is time for the workshop to begin, log on and settle in from your home. Shini will work through the recipes step-by-step in a live cooking demonstration. You may choose to purchase the ingredients that day and after the workshop is finished, put what you learnt into action and make the curry and dal for your dinner. Please be aware that this workshop is a cooking tutorial and not a follow-along cooking class. It will give you the recipes and knowledge to cook a Sri Lankan feast in your own time (after the workshop has finished) and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and chat with Shini.

Shini was born and grew up in Sri Lanka and is passionate about cooking. She has taught Sri Lankan cooking workshops at BCC in the past and is excited to be exploring online learning. In this workshop you will learn how to make Sri Lankan dahl and a chicken curry. With help from her assistant Linda, Shini will explain the cooking process and show you different techniques. After the cooking demonstration, you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Class time: Tuesday at 2pm – 3pm
Term start: June 9
Cost: $25 (1 session)
